Bridge Deck Mapping

In 2012, BOYLE was contracted to support a USDOT-sponsored project to investigate remote sensing for bridge infrastructure condition assessment. In conjunction with the Professional Aerial Photographers Association, BOYLE mapped dozens of bridge decks
across the country using small format (non-mapping) CMOS cameras. This was pioneering work performed prior to commercial drone implementation and facilitated the commercial advancement of small cameras used in infrastructure inspection, particularly deck defect mapping, everywhere.

Mechanical Testing of Cured in Place Plastic Pipe

Since 2006, BOYLE has led the way in supporting trenchless Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) contractors across the country to ensure a high level of Quality Assurance.
Boyle Laboratories LLC provides A2LA-accredited mechanical testing of the in-situ pipe rehab product so project engineers can decide if the installation meets project specifications.

Private Sector Land Development Quality Assurance (QA)

Over 30 years, BOYLE has left its mark on hundreds of residential (SFH, MFH, TH), retail, industrial, office, daycare, and other private sector land development projects in the Charlotte Metro area. As a key member of the development team, BOYLE works to help developers assess new project sites, provide development recommendations, and foster collaborative materials testing, special inspections, and other quality assurance documentation services during the construction phases of development (horizontal and
vertical).

Private Sector Land RE-Development

In-fill projects, change of use, and re-builds always have unique materials, geotechnical, and environmental challenges compared to green-field sites. Our environmental, materials testing, building diagnostics, condition assessment, and geotechnical expertise has assisted dozens of owners, urban architects, and developers manage
these risks successfully. Whether it is a project needing additional foundation support, contaminated soil remediation, lead/ asbestos materials abatement, or due diligence inspection, BOYLE goes above and beyond.

Public Sector Infrastructure Development and Management

Since 1995, working with civil engineering professionals and municipal infrastructure
program managers in the Charlotte Metro area, BOYLE has performed hundreds of
materials and geotechnical investigations for schools, rail stations, municipal sewer
upgrades, new roads, intersection improvements, pump stations, culvert upgrades,
sidewalk projects, new bridges and bridge upgrades, and other critical public
infrastructure.
